Circulation Section : Issue , Return, Renewal & Reservation functions are done using the  Barcode system in LIBSOFT. Circulation Section handles the Front Desk operations of the library and is very important because it is the first contact point for faculty and users to the library. Efficient functioning Circulation Desk leaves a lasting impression on the user and hence it a very significant section of the library. Major Activities of the Section are:

a) Issue, return, renewal and reservation  of Learning Resources(Primarily Books).

b) Attending the Users’ query for effective interpretation of library rules and regulations.

c) Registration of new Members through barcode printed ID Cards.

d) Correspondence & No Due issuing.

e) Assisting the users for accessing OPAC and Reference.

Reading Hall :  The Reading Hall has a seating capacity for 250 users with  two peer-learning cubicles for group discussions and study, separate reading area for staff, electric charging points, and  four terminals for internet access and CD / DVD viewing.

​

New Arrivals : Books just received and not yet catalogued are placed on shelves in the ground floor adjacent to the Librarian’s work area. New catalogued books can be found on the ‘’New Arrivals’ shelf.

 

General Stack Area : Spread across two wings i.e. lending section and reference section for

books/bound Volumes.

​

Reference Section : The Reference section contains the principal encyclopediae, dictionaries, atlases, handbooks, directories and Newspaper clippings. These items cannot be circulated outside the library.

 

Periodicals Section : This section contains journals, magazines and dailies, both English and Malayalam.

 

Question Bank: Question papers of all previous Examinations are stocked in print format and the same is also scanned and saved on the system for access via the network.

 

Back Volumes of periodicals  : The library stocks a very good collection of numerous back volumes of a variety of periodicals and journals.

Department Libraries: Apart from the Main Library, the College Library hosts Departmental libraries  of Malayalam, Physics, Chemistry and History.

​

Non Book Materials : These include floppy disks, cassettes, CD-ROM’s & DVD’s of various subject areas, online resources, electronic journals and resources from the National Library Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST) programme of Inflibnet & National Digital Library.

​

Online Education & Research Section : The library has a Broadband internet connection service provided by BSNL with 20-30 Mbps speed. The faculty and students use the Internet search engines for relevant information, Students are provided unlimited access during library hours. Users can make use of the vast online resources collection of the College Library  as well as data available via N-LIST provided by Inflibnet and also National Digital Library.

Career Point :  The library maintains a section of books that assist the users to meet their requirements in competitive examinations and other career related objectives.

​

Reprographic Section :  The library provides photocopying service during library hours for a small fee.

​

Electronic Gate Register : The user traffic is monitored by an Electronic Gate Register at the entrance of the Library with the aid of Barcode system.

​

Property Counter : Readers can / have to leave their belongings at the Property Counter before entering the library. 

​

CCTV Facility: CCTV facility is functional for better surveillance.
